Heartmade For You is a small business that was started by me, Miki Miller, in 2002. A lifelong love of sewing, cross-stitch, needlework, and art led me to rediscover my love of quilting in 2000. My oldest daughter was returning from a yearlong rehabilitation program and the family had high hopes for her future and making a quilt to celebrate her return was a way for me to work through the fear, hope, and joy of her impending return.
Unexpectedly, quilting brought me much more than this initial emotional expression. Quilting has also brought me a community of friends and a richness of experiences I didn't know I was missing in my life. My friends and customers have brought me much joy and I hope to share that with others through every quilt I touch.
My daughter still struggles with drug addiction and our family has learned a
lot since 2000 about how to continue our own lives through the grief of losing a
child to addiction.
To learn more about Methamphetamine addiction, please visit the National Institute of Drug Abuse. Also, Iowa Moms Off Meth is a non-government grass-roots organization created specifically for and by Iowa Moms facing substance addiction.
What I offer:
I am not a large corporation. I strive to share my creative talents through quilting for customers, teaching workshops and small classes, designing patterns, graphic designing for web and print, and mentoring other quilting professionals. I love what I do and feel blessed to have such wonderful customers.

Thanks to the loving support of my family (and my
furry Prozac named "Bogie") I am able to bring joy and art to
the lives of other.
